In the quiet moments between the "doing," I often find myself asking a simple yet piercing question: Life is moving so swiftly, and I am involved in so many things, but am I actually enjoying them?
It is a common struggle. We carry the burden of "what if." What if I can’t get it all done? What if I run out of time? This weight acts like an anchor, keeping me from drifting into the beauty of the present moment. I become so focused on the horizon that I miss the ground beneath my feet. I know I do.
The Source of Peace
I have come to realize that I cannot manufacture my own stillness. True peace, real, lasting peace of mind, is a gift from the Provider. When I shift our focus from my "to-do list" to my "to-be list," the atmosphere changes. I begin to see that every circumstance, even the challenging ones, is part of a larger shaping of the heart.

Counting the Blessings
A life well-lived is a life well-counted. When I look at the landscape of my days, I see a tapestry of opportunities, friends, and family. At times, I am calendar challenged - wrong day, wrong time. Recently, I found myself an hour early to a meeting at a local hotel. At first, I feel the frustration of the mistake overwhelm me, then I see it. A beautiful sunrise peeking through the lanai off the lobby. Breathe. Now becomes one hour of watching the Creator move across my island home. Peace built into my day, not by my doing, not by my schedule, but by His provision. Once again, He provides and gives me time to see His grace in my life.
Specifically, I think of my husband, Lloyd. We all have those people who make the journey lighter. The ones who make us laugh, who make us feel deeply loved, and who care for us in ways that we extend a "thank you" to the heavens. Recognizing these gifts is the first step toward staying in the moment.
Overcoming the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO)
I often worry about what I am missing, sometimes chasing after the next big thing or the next social obligation. But there is a profound truth I am learning: You cannot miss out when you are walking with the Creator. I have learned that it is better to hear than to talk. It is better to be in the Presence of the Sovereign Friend than to worry about what is happening elsewhere. When we walk with the Sovereign Creator, we aren't "missing out". We are exactly where we are meant to be.
Join Me
As we move through our days, let us do what we can with what has been given to us. Let us glorify the Source of our life in every step. Most importantly, let us help one another to stay in the moment.
Because when we stay in the moment, we aren't just passing through life. We are truly living it.
